All Saints & St Barnabas

Choir

Choir 48k

Our choir sings at the Sunday morning services and other occasional services, Choral Evensong, Carol services, etc.  Additionally we enjoy seasonal opportunities such as Palm Sunday where we sing Passiontide Cantata.

Practices are held in All Saints Church on Thursday evenings from 8pm to 9:30pm.

The Choir is affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music, and is comprised of S.A.T.B.  We welcome singers in all voice parts, and we would be very pleased to welcome young people into the choir.

Training is provided for young members (and also for adults if they wish) through the RSCM Training Scheme 'Voice For Life'.  Training is also arranged for RSCM external awards.

The choir's repertoire is extensive.  Music, both accompanied and unaccompanied, ranges from Tudor to Modern English Church music together with items from the European repertoire.

The choir gives a concert of sacred choral music each November on the Saturday nearest to St Cecilia's Day.

The church choir takes part, together with other singers who join us to practice from September onwards.  Works have included Faure's Requiem, Mass in C by Mozart, Christmas Oratorio by Bach, Mass by Dvorak etc.

Additional singers in all voice parts are very welcome.  If you are interested, please contact the conductor (Eric Beven, number above) well before the beginning of September in any given year.  All music is provided on loan free of charge
