Welcome to All Saints and St Barnabas

Two inclusive churches in Purley and Kenley working together to serve God and our community

As we continue on our journey towards becoming one worshipping community we take turns worshipping at each church for our Sunday 10am Eucharist.  Our normal pattern is:

1st and 3rd Sunday at All Saints, Church Road, Kenley CR8 5DU
2nd and 4th Sunday at St Barnabas, Higher Drive, Purley CR8 2HR

Please check the locations below as sometimes things change.

Our 10:00am services are celebrated with a spirit of joy and we sing both traditional and modern music. We follow the pattern of the Church's year, but are committed to justice within creation, including Creationtide and Black History month in our yearly patterns of service. We have a weekly traditional language service on Sundays at 8:00am; Monday-Friday morning and evening prayer on Facebook and several midweek services online and in person.

Our beliefs

We believe in an inclusive church – a church which celebrates and affirms every person and does not discriminate. We are members of Inclusive Church.

We will continue to challenge the church where it continues to discriminate against people on grounds of disability, economic power, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, learning disability, mental health, neurodiversity, or sexuality.

We believe in a Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.

Sunday Services on YouTube

We aim to stream our 10am services on our All Saints and St Barnabas YouTube Channel although this isn't always possible.  Just search for  All Saints Kenley, or St Barnabas Purley on the YouTube website or app.

If you have a Google account, you can SUBSCRIBE to the Channel by clicking the red button on the screen. You will then receive a notification every time a new video is added. There is no charge for subscribing.

The Season of Lent

This Season is a period of 40 days (a reminder of the 40 days Jesus spent in the desert before facing trials posed by the devil) leading up to Holy Week and Easter. A time for self-examination, penitence, self-denial, study and preparation. These 40 days don't include Sundays in some Churches. Mothering Sunday is a 'refreshment Sunday' falling on the 4th Sunday of Lent. Although a time of reflection, prayer and penitence, it's not meant to be a stern or miserable time, but one of quiet peace and hope.
